More non-riding weather ahead

FLOODING...THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY STRONG WIND GUSTS AND DEADLY
LIGHTNING...AND IN THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE 5500 FEET HEAVY SNOW WITH
NEAR ZERO VISIBILITIES. SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TUESDAY WITH
SNOW LEVELS AS LOW AS 3500 FEET. HAZARD FREE WEATHER IS FORECAST

And looking at the 10 day forecast, we get another storm next weekend. Whooey! I guess SoCal really needs the rain, but it would be nice if the storms were farther apart. Good thing there are plenty of trails that are rideable while wet.

I usually bust out the indoor trainer when the weather's bad. I lose range-of-motion pretty quickly when I don't ride so trails or no trails, I gotta pedal on a regular basis.

honestly, they're spaced fine, I'd just rather have them come on NON fontana race weekends...

Except for a total of maybe 14 days, we have 12 months of riding weather here.

Outside of the southwest, we'd have about 5 months of non-riding weather every year!

Even when it's bad here, it's still good.

It's 3:30am and I got woken up by the sound of wind. Not raining as of yet, but it looks like it's going to be another wet week. #-o

Been pouring here for over an hour. Weather dot com has the current chance of rain here at 97% :lol: The hour-by-hour shows a 100% chance at 11am. Magic 8-Ball says: "It's going to rain.... period".

It's been dumping on the Westside since about 4am. The wind is making it slam against my windows pretty hard.
There will definitely be some trail modifications out there!

It's been raining here since around 4:30... strong winds too. Poor riding weather, indeed. Tomorrow though... that may be a different story. There should be another good dusting of snow in the Santa Ana Mts.

I think it couldn't be a better time to rain, even the weekends. But after this one it can stop and rain only during the week.

Apparently, this is the biggest punch of this winter, thus far. I know up here in Sierra Madre, it's been dumping hard since early morning. Up here in the canyon, the streets have a mandatory no parking being enforced due to mud slides and access to city trucks and equipment to get in and out to remove mud. They have a flag system; green, orange and red and we're currently in red mode. I'm 2 blocks below the hazard areas so, safe for the most part. I feel bad for all those who are up there and have to deal with shoveling mud out of their house and driveways and maintain watch during heavy downpours. I like rain and we need rain but in this instance, I wouldn't mind it if it was less punchy and more spread out.

Rain fall is fine during the week, however it sucks when it lands on the weekend.

The aftermath of this rain is going to be thr requirement and a concerted effort of the tribe to once again sound off requests for trail maintenance. There will be many rutted areas especially on the San Juan, and Simpson.
