Fully Loop Crash Today

Rusty,

I'll be keeping your trainer a little longer.;) I can't use it quite yet. If you need it let me know.

Well this is a good time to go bike shopping.:) Maybe in a few days.

How bad does a helmet have to be to throw it away? Mine is history I know that - I am just curious as to how do you determine it's over? Mine has dent's and small cracks, cracks on the foam as well.

I only had my helmet for a 2 months or so, it was a black Fox Flux? I ordered it at The Path. I'll order a new one from them if it's not in stock. The helmet certainly did it's job. I am very grateful! Thou my neck is very sore and stiff.

Thanks for the healing vibes!

Yikes! Glad you're ok.

Elvia -
Hope you're feeling better soon - I'm sure your neck is gonna be stiff for sure. Sorry I missed your call on Sunday after you crashed - I wish my phone was on me at the time.... I would have gone to urgent care to stay with you for sure - and when it's a long wait just order a pizza from any delivery service. I've done that a couple times in the ER while waiting. Let me know if you need any help this week with anything.
Take care and see you soon!
Donny
p.s. putting a positive spin on this, Elvia has definitely improved on her downhill skills and bombs faster and with more confidence. But as we all know, we're gonna crash eventually and when we do on a downhill, it's usually a good/bad one!

Wow heal up. At least your not quitting after that crash.

As for the helmet if you crash hard on a helmet its done. They are designed to take on crash and thats it. any kind of dents in the plastic means time for a new. Same if you see any cracks in the foam.

Check with the shop and see if the helmet company offers a "crash replacement"!

Glad you are okay, you were a tad loopy when you picked up Julia!! Good call getiing someone else to drive you. ;-)

Man, I know it's been said a million times but the Fully Loop is one dangerous trail!!! Hope you aren't too sore tomorrow and glad to hear you sound pretty good! Heal up and don't forget to take pics of your black eye and line on your forehead! :)

wow! good to hear it's not worse than a few scrapes and bruises. that hill can really sneak up on people.

heal up and keep riding if you can

Elvia, do NOT concern yourself over the trainer for even a minute. It's yours for as long as you need it.

Advice? Get the new helmet. Maybe you can get a discount.

A month ago I got tired of crashing on my face and got a MET Parachute. It's not extremely heavy, and it makes me feel better. It's something to consider.

I've taken some of my worst spills at the Loop. It gets everyone eventually.

I hope you are feeling better! Take care--

Bicycle helmets (as oppose to motorsport helmets) are designed for single impacts so you should definitely get it replaced. Youre suppose to replace it even if you drop it hard (i think it was something like anything greater than a 5ft drop).

It's better to spend another $100-200 and know that your head is safe for the next crash (didnt maen to jinx it, lol)

i think people have done it so many times and the fact that it's suppose to be a "safe/easy" ride, people loose respect for it and treat it as if it was a walk in the park.

RESPECT the LOOP!

Amen!!!

Well there's a bright side to everything and I have today off.:)

I sent a message to my boss via my co-worker. I am sitting here waiting for my cell to ring. He will be calling me for sure. The taught of me not being at work makes him crazy. Who else will do his work?:?: The boss constantly tells me he loves me -- I know he will not take this well.;) In reality I hope it's my work that he loves.

Yes, I am bored and drugs do you make silly.

Forget did you take to dyslexic your drugs? :?:

:lol::lol::lol:

Beware of the Loop Big Boy.
