Started Moby Dick here too. My son finished an abbreviated version of it in his junior reader collection and it piqued my interest. While I am familiar with the story it is one of those classics I never read. I downloaded it to my reader, all 540+ pages. Damn, Melville is verbose. He spent the first 5 pages just to state that Ishmael loves the water. So far I am enjoying it. It certainly promises to fill what little free time I have.

The Hunger Game series was an entertaining read. I blew through all the books in a pretty short period of time. Most recent book I finished was "A Game of Thrones" which was great. Working on the 2nd book in that series now "A Clash of Kings"

Finished House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski.

good book, interesting, but weird. The format of the book is rather unconventional and takes some getting used to, but its pretty good. fair warning though: its written like a scholarly journal, and you need to be ready for footnotes from hell...

Finally I'm reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I really want to understand the hype about this author and his books, that's the reason why I want to try it! And I even got it on sale, therefore I lost nothing when I dislike it. Although I think I will like it since it's so well-known and there even exist these special Dan Brown tours in Rome... it has to be good! ;)

I really need to get to this one. Definitely going to do the audio book.

I've recently been on a fun biography kick. I tend to listen to books because I am in the car, a lot.

"Bossypants" - Tina Fey Super fun, all though she is a total pinko commie. (read by Tina Fey)

"God No" - Pen Jillette He's an atheist and damn proud of it. I enjoyed it more for the stories (read by Pen Jillette)

"Steve Jobs" - Walter Isaacson I am a total Apple geek. I loved the insight

"The Areas of My Expertise" and "More Information Than You Require" - John Hodgman These are books of made up knowledge. THe audio books are great because John Hodgman brings in Jonathan Colton and some other friends. Had a great time with these books (read by John Hodgman)

I need an epic series like "A Song of Ice and Fire" to blow through. Somebody recommended "Pandora's Star" Has anyone read it?

[h=1]Tear Down This Myth: How the Reagan Legacy Has Distorted Our Politics and Haunts Our Future by Will Bunch[/h]
pretty interesting read about what Reagan really did while in office (grew govt, raised taxes, was pragmatic, etc) vs. the myth of how wonderful he is as portrayed by the modern Republican party.

    The Kingkiller Chronicle

I may be a little late to the party, but I recently discovered Patrick Rothfuss's seriers; "The Kingkiller Chronicles"

"Day One: The Name of the Wind"
"Day Two: The Wise Man's Fear"

I, as usual, went for the audio book format. The books are read by Nick Prodehl.

I can not wait for "Day Three: The Doors of Stone" to come out in May of 2013.
