I'm riding solo as well. I have an ez-up and a cooler for some post ride adult beverages. I'm in.
Calling all Slackers!
I was thinking of getting the band back together aka the SS Slackers from yesteryear.
mandatory mellowness and general mayhem accompanied with feats of strength along the way. plus there may be adult bevies abound and throughout the ride or something like that.:drunk:
it could just happen this year......
I'm in for the 'slacking' - but only for 25 miles of it...
Hi, what is sslacking?
also i ride 40~50ish miles with 5kish elevation per week (weekly 'total') speed is around 9.5 with ss rigid and 11 with fs geared.
not high climb but i can do 2100ft elevation 19miles distance at 9.5mph without getting exhausted, should i go for 25 or try 50... my longest single ride was around 23 miles.
i know this event is at your own pace but just got curious since I never tried any type of event or group riding...

Thanks!!!!
i did the 50 miles last year in 6 hours and im slow as molasses,on a 30lb geared remedy with some cramps and some walking.
In previous years, the aid stations had some food like oranges and bananas and bottled water. Last year, I heard some comments from the end of the pack of shortages of some items. I did not experience any, but I do carry some snacks and a couple of energy supplements, just in case.My pals and I are doing the 50 this year with the goal of coming in DFL. I've done it before (and almost made goal) but I can't remember how well stocked the aid stations are. Do they have everything like a roadie event? Or should I bring my own food?
