So, after converting the El Mariachi to a SS several weeks ago I hadn't gotten a chance to ride it until yesterday. The B* ride got rained out and then I went on vacation. Anyhow, I took the maiden voyage at LCWP. I stayed up on the ridge and rode Bommer out until the end and back, returning on Missing Link and Fenceline. It was a good workout. I had only ridden once in the last month. There were only two climbs I didn't clean, the short steep section right before T&A and on the return right before Water Tank.

It wasn't a dramatic difference from the 1x9, then again I didn't do any big climbs. Maybe it is something about the drivetrain efficiency. I will say this, it does give the upper arms/shoulders a workout. Saturday was a beautiful day to ride.

On a side note, my EBB is squeaking all to hell. I am going to have to see what is up with that.

That's awesome Ryan!, glad to see that you got out of your comfort zone and went SS. Sit, stand, or walk are the 3 speeds of the SS and you will get use to all of them. We'll have to get Tony out and we can all do the Whiting/Luge loop in the next month or so. Enjoy your new ride!

Mine actually came with a 4th speed-- STOP! (Seemed to include lots of heavy breathing?) Used that gear a lot in the 1st few weeks..

Good call on not tackling Willow. :)

My 4th gear is laying over the handlebars begging for mercy
