For 12k, I would think the bike would be smart enough to dial in the suspension for whoever sits on it based on their weight and the terrain they are riding.

they definitely charge the most for their new-technology-equipped bikes compared to the other big companies. a couple years from now they'll be offering the same bike for a couple grand less.

I wouldn't fault them though, initial launches at higher prices help to regain some of the capital invested in R&D. I guess scott just jacks up the price a bit more than the other big bike companies...

I was reading about that tonight on my flight. I think your helping pay for the battle with the Big S too. I get the priced kinda its an all mountain bike with XC race weight. Dude 6in travel and less then 23lbs.

But then you can get the alloy version for like 4 Gs

Naw man really it's just a bike, it rides just like the one at wal mart by pushing the pedals. Some may think you get what you pay for but there is not much value here for the typical STR Demographic. This is something you buy to out shine the riding buddies, a pure penis bike. But it's like they say if you have to ask how much it's usually out of your league.

I rode that bike at Interbike, and IMHO, it's worth every penny. I haven't ridden THAT many bikes, but this has to be one of the best I have ever ridden. And the ability to fully lock out the rear sock is amazing.

I am so in love with this bike. I can't wait until we bring demos into the shop!

Rear lock-out is no problem with a hard tail.

i actually owned and raced a Scott Genius RC10 for a while. While this was an import bike not sold in the US due to a specialized patent issue, scott USA really dropped the ball supporting me with a couple issues I had. I won't get into details, but i was out promoting their brand and had some poorly engineered faults that could have been easily resolved. due to the lack of support, i promptly sold the bike and refuse to buy anything from scott... which is a shame because i used their goggles and tear-off systems for motocross. i'm also sure to tell people to stay away from them everytime i can too
