For the book readers on STR, what are you reading?

Recently finished "A Pale View of Hills" by Kazuo Ishiguro, and "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan. Also picked up a few old Paris Reviews for the last few days' storm.

Working through "Terra Nostra" by Carlos Fuentes at the moment.
 
The Bible! Its the only book I read!
Im currently on a reading plan called the One year Bible which breaks down the Bible into sections so I can read through the whole Bible in One year and be fed the Word of God Daily!

3 1/2 Years Ago I gave my Life to Jesus when He saved me from addiction to Drugs and Alcohol. It's through the reading of His Word daily where He has Changed my heart and transformed me from a drug addict living on the streets to a Man blessed with a wife and a great shot at Life and better yet Eternal life with my Saviour!!! All Glory to Jesus!

'Ruined' - hiking the Inca Trail by M. John Fayhee

"Your time is coming, asshole,” he said. Then the little devil grabbed my head and faced it downhill. I hate long steep downs, and they hate me. And we were about to embark upon the first of three nasty, quad-killing Inca Trail descents."

@northshore, if you like his blog :Bike Snob NYC, then you'll enjoy the books. But the tan colored book, which was his first is pretty good. The blue or second book was bleh.
 
To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth - Jeff Cooper

A tad dated but still worth the read or re-read.

And I did recently pickup, Team 7-Eleven: How an Unsung Band of American Cyclists Took on the World - and Won. I havent start this yet, but it looks interesting.
 
I just read "Skin Deep" which is the true accounts of Anne Hjelle and her experienced when she was attacked by a mountain lion while riding Cactus Hill in Whiting Ranch back in 2004. Mark Reynolds was also attacked, but was killed that day.

For many of us who ride or hike out into the wilderness, I'm sure the thought of being attacked has crossed all of our minds. Knowing someone who has experienced and survived it hits home for me.

It's not available in a print version, only on Kindle. Great read.

That definitely has been on my "to read" list. Looking forward to it.

About to finish up 2666 by Roberto Bolano; about 50 pages to go, out of around 900, and this one has been a while to get though. Very well written though; essentially five different, though interrelated, stories. Timing, character development, and just overall storytelling are all top notch. Bolano is incredible,and it's a true shame that this was his last novel before he died.

Next up is another Iris Murdoch book, A Fairly Honorable Defeat.
 
Almost finished with Bruce by Peter Ames Carlin. Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln is next.
