Ah, man! Now I'm even more nervous riding at Marshall! Gotta stop riding alone. I've seen bobcats and coyotes plenty of times. Not that they don't make me nervous, but better than seeing mt. lions or bears...although I'm sure they're plenty around when we ride there.
Wow that far from the foothills! That cougar traveled a ways down. Prepare for this all summer guys. Bow hunters I talk to, have been glassing around GMR say that they have been seeing a lot of deer. Where there's deer there's cats. Years ago I climbed patato and on the way down i chased a huge buck with a nice rack for about 20 seconds. It was sweet.
The cat was hit in the face when they tranquilized it and didn't survive the move to Mt. Baldy according to the Tribune or LA times. It was one of those papers. It was sitting on the sound wall by La Verne Heights elementary and Beaver Way. Close to where Wheeler ave crosses the 210. Here kitty kitty kitty!
I looked at an article once that had traced where a collered cat had walked/prowled or whatever it was doing. It was one in the Santa Monicas. It had been in over 20 different backyards looking for small pets. This wasn't a fluke but happened on a regular basis. This was the female who had a litter. She was eventually killed by the male lion who inhabits the same range.
