I don't get things my way.

I had to cancel an order for parts I needed for upcoming Mammoth trip because Jenson's doesn't update their back order information. "We're sorry. We can't control what our vendors do." Fine lot of good that does me. Back order items due 8/16 and 8/18. As of today, after I called, 8/31. I placed my original order on 8/3 for a trip on 8/26.

Don't get me wrong, Jenson's is a fine company with very good pricepoint's. I have ordered plenty from them in the past, usually with no issues whatsoever. I would just like them to update backorder dates when they find out that they will not be receiving items when listed. I don't know, maybe that's not reasonable?

Now with 1 week to go, I must find somewhere else to procure my needs, at my pricepoint.

Ok, rant over.

If I can save just 1 person from jumping off a bridge because thier trip was ruined, then......

If it's on Backorder and you're in a time crunch, then it would be prudent to look elsewhere. Backorder items are usually out of the control of the seller, as they are waiting on shipment from the manufacturer/distributor. I ordered a wheelset once from Pricepoint.com which was on back order. I called them and they said they were "EXPECTING" it in by a certain date. That date came around and I called them and they said still nothing, so I just canceled my order.

We all understand that, it is when they list it as in stock and you don't find you out later that it did not ship. Wasting time that you could have been used sourcing it else where. I have had online vendors hold up a multi item order because one item was backordered...not cool I understand they do that to save shipping cost. Local vendors sometimes list something as in stock so I chose the cheap shipping option because it will get here overnight no matter what method of shipping. Then find out I won't get it because they are shipping out of some warehouse back East is not cool either.

I understand back orders can become held up for any number of reasons. I'm just suggesting Jenson's looks into some way of updating thier back order dates and possibly notifying the customer of a delay. Again, maybe this is unreasonable, I don't know. Whatever, I'm over it. I got my (4 weeks to get) Shimano XT brake pads elsewhere.

Cheep

u mean 9 days...... Dave do you need to borrow some money?:-({|=:-k:?:

lol

I have XT brake pads... would you like those in organic or metallic, just replace them when the back order comes in.

i feel ur pain...at the end of the day jenson is still the shit.
they did me once like that but compensated in price matching, a very nice gift certificate and the option to pick up on site.
all cuz i never canceled my order.
my experience did not butt in to a planned ride, so prob not as painful.
appreciate sharing ur experience.....good looking out to the STR peeps.

have a good trip.

They price match and offer on site pick up anyways. You don't even need to threaten to cancel.

Jenson's is great for most items i don't want to wait for shipping. Just make sure its in stock.

I noticed they've been out of the Shimano XT brake pads, but they have the xtr pads available for $20. I have both in my tool box, if you need some let me know.
