For those not going out of town with weekend 5/26

In prepration for the Traverse (I must be crazy!), I'm thinking of riding up Blackstar to Main Divide and back down Maple Springs to the car parked at the church parking lot on Silverado Canyon (safer there). I want to see how long this is going to take. I haven't ridden past The Motorway in quite a while... I seem to remember some stupidly steep sections before Main Divide. Should help to acclimate for the coming heat as well.

Anybody else as stupid as me want to join me??

Will probably leave the parking lot around 8 am.

Don't know the distance, but the whole ride is probably a 4 -5 hour ride. You can always turn around at Beek's Place and come back down.

Hey Gregg, I looked it up in the Mountain biking Orange Co.(Randy Vogel). There isn't that exact route but they do have Black Star to MW and Maple Springs to MW. Put it together minus the descend down The Motorway and it's about 36 miles or so. Black Star to Motorway trailhead-16.0 miles, Maple Spring to Motorway trailhead-13.7 miles, Maple Springs to Black Star via Silverado Canyon Rd approx. 7 miles. I'd join you but I'll be riding it the following week. 8-[
