where are the access points to main divide?
do i need a permit?
what are the rules to be on main divide with a dirt bike?

If I remember correctly you need a DOT legal bike with a license plate. You can get up at Silverado/Maple Springs and where Main Divide intersects the Blue Jay access road near Ortega Highway. Not sure if you can access from Skyline Drive but I think so. Watch out for bikers, hikers and 4 wheelers.

There is a locked gate at the Skyline entrance but it's easy for a dual sport bike to get around. (or pay a $100 deposit and get a key from the county of Riverside)

You can also go up Indian Truck Trail

As far as I'm aware (as of a few years back) Green Sticker bikes are legal there and you can access up Maple Springs (or from Ortega Hwy also). I use to ride my XR/CRF50 up there all the time. And i swear riding the 50 up there was way more tiring then riding my bike up there.... not sure how that works...

Green sticker is not legal except in Wildomar OHV park. You need a plated street legal bike on Main Divide.

Plated bike is required, skyline is usally open during the week, you can also access via maple, or of ortega . Theres not much to do technicalwise, other then go up take a nap in the meadow by eagle and look for snakes and birds of prey which is what i do on my 650 all summer
