at that point you wonder why he's still carrying it. with that kinda dedication, you'd think he'd drop the tire to save weight...

that is, unless they require that your whole bike crosses the finish line...

post your pic of the Dh guy that was pinned all the way until the groud.
Now that was dedication :bang:

Here's shot of my determination from the 24hr race. I rode about 5 miles like this.

The noise a hardtail makes without a tire is amazing.

Wow. That is determination. At least your steering didn't suffer like the first-picture-guy's.

This thread makes me want to start a poll about how far from the finish you'd be willing to Fred-Flinstone-style it, if your chain broke.

i broke a chain preriding one of the bonelli courses, it was at the start of our ride but at the end of the race loop we were riding and I told myself thats the furthest distance I would get off and sprint to the finish with no chain...roughly .5 miles, otherwise im walkin.

Similar experience racing motorcycles and good reason to run two rim locks...having a carcass split and whip you in teh back is not my idea of a good time.

You mean like this kind of riding Kris? This is still one of my favorite pics from a couple years back.
