NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !

You cant go from punk to country .

You know the punks and hillbillys don't get along .

Yes you can. Much of today's music, rock to punk, has it's roots in country.

I prefer the classics like Hank Sr., Lefty Frizzell, Carl Perkins, Townes Van Zandt, and Merle Haggard. Cash is King. But real country has to sing about mama, trains, trucks, prisons, and gettin drunk.

Delcine, I think you'll find they're one and the same in a lot of respects...

Ill agree on roots in Country but they are not that close .

BBQ stains and white t shirts does not equal Holiday in Cambodia .

Edit - That Hank video has every redneck stereotype that I know of in it . Not bad .
Hes like the GG Allin of country

Ill play

^ This.
Seemed like every Williams after Sr. was reduced in quality :P Merle Haggard and "the bottle don't let me down" really stuffs it for me.

H3 aka Hank Williams the third does both:clap: Saw him at the Coach House and he did a great set of old time country (like his grandpa), then came back and did some trailer trash punk.

Check out "Thunderstorms and Neon Signs."

I'd say blues had a bigger influence on rock than country, but country is definitely part of the foundation. However mainstream country stopped being country over 20 years. Sometime around Garth Brooks was the downfall. It is pop music nowadays. Granted just like anything, there is still real country music. Taylor Swift has how many CMA, CMT, etc. awards. Country? Really? WTF!?!? Patsy she is not.

She could even take a lesson from Patty Loveless

I am not a big fan of country, but I do like quality music of any kind and can appreciate the real artists of country.

Whataburger! Eddie Spaghetti puts on a good show. Cha, Cha, Cha!

Wait a minute... That's just "X" under a different name.

I hate main stream whiny, My truck don't work, my dog got ran over, My woman left me. But country that has it roots in Bluegrass or Western is where Rockabilly came from, Which is basically a Country-Punk fusion.
