I've moved out of SoCal for the first time in my life! I now live in Denver, and one main reason I know I'll adapt to life a mile high is because of the notoriously great mountain biking and snowboarding.

Can anyone offer any advice of where to ride, local to Denver? Ideally suited for a half day trip?

While I don't live in SoCal anymore there is no way I'll stop visiting these forums as they've been indispensable and totally awesome!

Thanks, everyone.

I'm from Colorado..Your so lucky to be out there..GODS COUNTRY..Do yourself a big favor ride Crested Butte, and Breck after the snow. I'm from Pueblo..There is a place called PMI, down there bad ass jumps and drops..For picturesque riding hit the Rainbow trail south of Salida. Canyon city, red rock canyon park is similar to MOAB..

For after work local rides, I've heard of fun trails in the Deer Creek Canyon area. It should be snow-free still. If you're on the south side of town it would be a good after-work spot.

There has to be a good LBS somewhere near you that would have beta.

Hit up YETI and go on a lunch ride with them, they are all cool as hell.Just call them and let em know you are coming in, free tour, free demo bikes, free lunch ( sometimes) free chance to see a cool ass place.

Hey, thanks for the advice and recommendations, guys. I really just need a place to start, a couple names to Google to get me started. Today I rode a place called Mount Falcon Park. They're not kidding with this whole altitude thing, the climb totally wiped me out. There was some good downhill to be had and riding in the snow for the first time was an experience. Thanks again, everyone.
