203mm rotors and QR

Has anyone had problems with using a 203mm rotor in the front with a Quick-release axle? According to the specs on my fork (Manitou Nixon Platinum) it can handle up to 210mm rotor, but it didn't specify whether it was thru-axle or QR.

I'm not really doing any hardcore DH/FR stuff, mostly AM and XC type riding. Aliso, LCWP (T&A), Whiting, etc.

Which part specifically flexes too much? Us big boys need all the stopping power we can get.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it. Ran one (QR & 203mm rotor) for few years until I switched to a 20mm fork.

I had a spare 203 lying around (thanks Chris!) so it didn't cost me anything. Big boys need our brakes :bang:

The fact that a few different bicycle manufacturers outfit their bikes with a QR Fork and 200mm+ front rotor makes me think it is kosher. That being said I am sure a thru-axle would be a bit more ideal though?

I ran a 203 with a QR front for years without any problems other than the godawful noise Juicy 7s make when they get hot.

Recently upgraded to a 15QR front axle and couldn't be happier, stiffens up the fork nicely and the 2 piece Hope rotor is much quieter than the Avids, but there's no noticeable difference to my braking that I can see.
