Let me understand your post, you rarely visit this site but you want to sell your bike here....do you understand the concept of community.

Oh! that's right you won't see my post anyway.

Well put, dean. Edited his post. If he's too lazy to check STR every now and then I don't want anybody to have to go to eBay, search for the item number, and then email him.

Whatever.

Item # 130007244063

I find it odd that just because I don't get to a computer every once and a while that I am criticized for participating in your website. What a great way to get new people to join your "community". Thanks for welcoming me!

Title not direct to OP....
Man... has the hot weather and heat gotten to some of you folks? Good lord, I think some need to chill. Honestly in Phat Tire's defense [i've never meet him], what if he's on the site alot and just lurks? Some people could be shy and resevered even behind a keyboard and internet. I know I am like that, and have only recently started to post a little more and more.
It's truely ironic to me, that you guys say he doesn't know what community is or even assume he doesn't visit the site often. Yet someone started a thread wishing another member of the board {jr....} who has got even less posts than Phat Tire a Happy B-day???? Seems to me there's a double standard? jr... hasn't even responded to any of your well wishes...LOL... now that's turely sad!!! Now some of you may know him, mostly likey from another site... but I'd bet to say very few of the old time regulars here know who he is.... so who's the one that doesn't have a sense of community????
Makes me wonder when I posted up my Fox Talas here for sale, how many posts I had back then:?: :?:

Anyways... i can't even believe i responded:(

Good luck selling your bike PT.

Not a bad guy

Thank you Choas  for your support. I looked up Community for all of you and one definition is:
  1. Similarity or identity: a community of interests.
  2. Sharing, participation, and fellowship.
I guess some people in every community I have ever lived in can be negative. I choose not to surround myself with negative people. Where's the "fellowship"? :?: I participate when I can get access to a computer. I don't spend my life on-line...just pedal, work, pedal, work, and hopefully pedal some more.

:( Gosh, I am nice guy just trying to sell a bike. Ask some of the riders I've ridden with on this site, I'm an alright guy and I can't believe some people are acting like this.

Phat tire...

If you recall your original post said NOT to post question on this site because you're rarely check it....just trying to keep a perspective, in the defense of others.

Lurking is noo problem at all. Putting up a for sale thread and then admitting that you're probably not gonna see responses to it sort of implies that you don't follow this community too much except for when you sell stuff. But you did come back to check the thread so it's not as bad as it sounded. Good luck on your sale. Here's a link for those interested.

Without reading the original post, that George edited, people can not get the flavor of your original post.

My post was not meant to be personnal, that would be hard because I do not even know you. It was not intended to be negative...although very sarcastic. The post just struck a wrong cord with me.

My perception was of someone coming into the forum with a want and little intention of giving back to the group. Granted, I maybe prejudice and sensitive in that area of my life. I found your agrument ironic that you rarely check the computer but you sell a bike on the web.

By the way a am normally a nice guy, although old and crotchety.

It might just be me, but I've never been fond of people selling items in a forum not specifically for selling items. I'm sure the guy is just trying to pass along a good deal and maybe get a good price for his bike, but I just think it should have been posted elsewhere.

i wonder if it would sell for more without any of the leaking problems. I think that may be a turn off for people just wanting to get in to mountain biking.

Didn't see the OG post, but either way this thread really "harshed my mellow".

Let's keep the positivity in here guys and gals! That is a big part of what makes this place so special!

Thanks!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE GREAT SUPPORT AND LOOKING AT MY ITEM. I know it would sell better without leaking but I didn't want to do the work or spend the $. As you all know...who knows what you get into when you start pulling forks apart! That's why it's fully disclosed. I got to where I wanted to be on the minimum price and there's a who day of bidding left. Not bad for a warranty frame, some new parts and some used parts!

Here here I second that!! I'm usually just lurking but have enjoyed the good nature of this place. I'd hate to think I would be F'd with just because I don't check in enough. Keep up the good vibes and best of luck Phattire....you're always a welcome member of the mountainbiking community.

Thanks Matt. Long time, no ride bro...let's ride sometime!\\:D/
