Hey Everyone!!
The Short Explanation:
JensonUSA is providing bike support for the 100 Mile Club's Ultramarathon event in October. They are hosting a 100 mile marathon from Corona to Santa Monica on October 23 thru 24 and need cyclists to provide support for them, ie: pull a trailer or have a back pack that can carry food, water, first aid, Navigation and communication equipment.
Volunteers need to be able to bike 50 miles going 5 - 11mph with intermittent sprints. You need to be a great public face for cycling, and be a little crazy. You will be able to choose which leg of the race you want to cover (below. I will fill it out as volunteers are finalized) If you can volunteer more they are having real time training runs starting this weekend table of times below. PM me if you can attend.
Longer Explaination
The 100 Mile Club is a school program designed to teach kids about living a healthy life style. To fight obesity and and to gain an appreciation of physical activity. The Program was started by Kara Lubin at the School in Corona we will begin at. 18 years ago it started and today there are thousands of kids participating in this effort. They also teach kids about principals of self I quote from their site,
"Our philosophy is simple. We believe that every individual has the ability to achieve true personal success and a new level of physical fitness by Accepting the Challenge of running (or walking) 100 Miles at school during a single school year. These feelings of true personal success and fitness are ones that will carry participants to new levels of achievement in all areas: academics, athletics, and implementation of the valuable life skills identified in the bricks of Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success."

Personally I have had to fight my weight all my life, and two of my friends have fought from over 425 pounds each to be in fighting weight (195 and 250) to do this event. I want to be there to support them, and I want to be able to set a great example for these kids and support these elite athletes in this monuments effort. Due to the wild nature of the event and the attrition rates the times of stations at the 50, and 75 mile markers need to be flexible for either fast runners or runners not meeting their times. I will post more details on the logistics later but I NEED YOUR HELP! http://www.100ec.org/http://www.100mileclub.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/pyramid3.jpg
