A buddy and I might reg day of and do the 62 mile course. He's done it before and liked it. I haven't done it before, but it would be kinda cool to climb Poway grade with the road closed to cars.

I've done it a couple times and really like it. My problem is getting up so early and driving all the way there. My friends who do it every year having been asking me to join them again so I guess I will. The grade is really not bad. It's a fun ride but without the pacelines, mostly 2 to 5 people groups. The food at the end was great as was the massage.

They won't let you ride the grade if you don't have the wrist band.....but if you mix in with a big group then they won't be able to pick you out.:-k

Wow I've never heard of poaching on a road bike. :)

Might be a nice route to do the day before, but I too would like to have cash for Vegas...for the ride that is, certainly not for strippers.8-[
