Hey guys,

I developed the flu on Sunday night and have been down since then. :protest:
Today is the first day that I haven't had any fevers. However, I have a nasty cough.

I'm supposed to be training for the Southridge Race coming up on the 30th. Being down with the sickness, my question is, what kind of training can I do to keep my fitness up while allowing my body to heal.

Thanks,

RL

Get lots of rest. I usually have colds over the winter time but they werent as bad. So I would still go riding while I was sick. I felt a lot better getting outside and I think I healed faster. Im no doctor so this is just from my observation. But when you do start to recover get in some riding. Im running every night about 2 miles to train up and loose weight (lost five pounds in 2 wks) Hope you get better.

Does that mean you're not joining us this Saturday?

Thanks for the input. I plan on being there. I just have to bring a bag full of Halls to keep the coughing down.

I just read an article about it:

The rule of thumb is: if you have fever and muscle pain, stay home, rent a movie and relax.

If you just congested, coughing a bit, moderate exercise will help clearing it out.
