    700 feet in 2.7 miles? Depending on how many laps they ride, that is actually quite a challenging ride at RACE PACE. This is not your take it easy chill Saturday morning ride. This is real race pace climbing about 200 feet per mile. Again, depending on how many laps they ride, that is like riding the Counting Coup or or Vision Quest at race pace.

    Don't be so quick to dismiss their race course. When you have dozens of racers moving for position, those stair step descents becoming much more challenging. I have mad respect for these racers and I hope Team USA represents well.

  4. I agree its going to be challenging. But I dont think its a true mountain bike course. Never the less I am still stoked for it to happen:beer:

    I don't think there is such a thing as a "true mountain bike course." Mountain terrain varies greatly.

    If they are on a MTB and getting TV time, I'm not complaining. It will be fun to watch.

    What's not to like? :-k

    That's a freakin bad-ass course and looks super fun for hard-tail/XC. I love riding those canopied, switchy-backs and stuff...exaclty the type of stuff I look for, esp after a long fire-road mosh.

    Bet it's a lung buster and leg burner.
    It's gona be freakin' on and there will be some hard-core hammering and pain to be sure. :bang:

    Hope the offshores come in time or some rain ta clean up the air...ooooo- rain, that'll snot things up fer sure and bring the 'mudders' up to the front for a shot at the "W".

    Go Adam Craig! :clap::clap::clap:

    I'm gettin' pretty foamy just thinkin' about it!

    Every other cross country course I've seen pictures of looks really boring. This course actually looks like it's going to make for some great racing action with a reasonably high degree of difficulty (the course and the tactics required in the switchbacks). :clap:

    Also, what DDB said \/

    Now if I can only find the scheduled channel and time that it will be broadcasted in Japan (where I'll be on those dates). :confused:

    I went to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista to see Mike Day earn his spot on the team. The track is the same as the one in China and the gaps
    are huge. Everyone that was in Chula was killing it and the speed was crazy fast. Hope to see the USA get some medals!

    Taylor Phinney is one to watch -- he just turned 18yrs old, his mom has a gold medal and his dad was one of the first American's to win a stage at the Tour De France, and he's wicked fast!

    Of course, Jennie is fantastic, too! And, so is Sarah! And--well, hell, they're all great (duh) Can't wait to see more cycling!!!!!

    Yeah, I thought she'd win by a lot more but 19 seconds at her speed is quite a distance. Plus she's 35 years old now and probably the fastest she's ever been.
