Details would be meeting at Santa Anita exit at 8am, sort vehicles and be at the top by 9:30 (spare vehicles would have been left at JPL lot). Be back at bottom at 11 to hop aboard ascend vehicle(s) to Channey Trail entrance on Wilson Road by noon, arrive JPL parking by 1:30. If we're all lazy we can ditch either route in favor of a concensus and just meet at the appropiate lot/meet spot at 9am.

This may change depending on votes on route and time!!

Come On Gonnzz u gotzz to try thizz one out BUB!!

<<<<Ride update: The plan has changed!!:( >>>>>

Meet location: JPL parking lot

Meet time: 7:30am

I'll see if the others can make it. And just to be sure, when you say 'JPL parking lot' you mean the one off of Windsor Avenue....right?

K... Been contacted by Jose to do an update here and to give some recon of what this ride is.
Our meet time is 7:30 am at the JPL lot up in La Canada/Altadena area, exit off 210 fwy at Windsor Ave/N. Arroyo Blvd and head to the mtns.(north). Drive about a mile and the lot will be on the left at the end of the straight.
This ride is a shuttle, from the JPL lot to the Mt. Wilson road to catch the Channey Trail. From there the ride starts and climbs easly for about 2/3rds of a mile to the Upper Merill trail head, hop on that and travers about 3/4 mile and then up about 100 yards to the start of the decent, pad up as there are a few branches.
Ride this down back to Channey Fire Road and then catch the "middle" Merill part, there is about a mile of travers that wrap wround to the frontside overlooking Pasadena. We'll then drop down on moderatly technical single track (no prob for hardtails) to Mt. Lowe.
From Mt. Lowe we'll take the trailway .9 of a mile over back to the Channey trail, take that down about 50 yards to the Sunset trailhead.
Sunset single track is more of the same moderate techie stuff, nice and fast if you want to let the brakes go. Last few switchback and then a traves out of the canyon and back onto the Channey road, take that down to the continuation of the Sunset trail to take you down into Mellard campground.
From there it's seats up and a bit of a climb on a fire road for about a mile, it'll then decend again to the El Prieto trail head. This trail is a mix of peddaling and decent with it being mostly decent, kinda zippy in some sections. Once this ends we'll be on the Gabralino trail exiting right by the Entrance to JPL and then about 3/4 mile on paved to the lot.
The folks that are going are a mixed bunch of climbers and all mountain guys, but we all just like to ride. Oh, if you have a radio please bring it. It makes it much easier should anyone in the back have a flat.

I'm not likely to check this anymore today so get in touch with Mr. Shirkin (I think that's his moniker?) for any more details, THANKS!!

some pixx from Sat!! not much b/c it was kind of a fast ride!!:(
