Ride Report Southridge #4

My RR: Party crazy hard on Fri, Rolled in on Sat and got 3 very hard practice runs. My nerves were so shot from being hung-over I was shaking all day, what ever. Sunday got some good practice I desperately needed, strategized and rested up for my race run. Race run, I felt fast and smoothed, hit all my lines, coming to the end of the last rock garden I was too low going through thee last chute and caught a pedal and proceeded to do the best super man impression in Fontana's city history. 10th not bad with a crash but I dropped a lot of points to The Sluck and now it's a race. On the the high note Chris Guillen took up the slack for the TK Riders and brought home the win. I helped a SCREAMING Sherm(ultraNoob) pop in a disclocated shoulder and it was one of the best courses from Donny and crew, see you in two, I'm out.

I dont know Tmac had a very good one last week.

guess i'll post up my rr.... i had no intention of racing yesterday, i just came to preride with traci and babysit the girls while she and neil were racing. The course ended up being so fun that it was hard to not race.... so being the dumbass i am, i signed up for expert men 27-34...keep in mind this would be the third ride on the new bike as well :bang: neil and i had no expectation on doing well, we just wanted to finish early so we can drink beer and cheer on the other racers.. one funny thing was running into curtis up top where he goes, "you're racing expert? there is a lot of fast guys in your class" this is about where i went #-o my race run actually went pretty well, i rode really clean up top and only messed up one turn. i hit the g outs clean and stayed low, but it all went downhill at the wall. once i got to the rock section along the wall, my legs were jello and i was just trying to stay planted on the bike. i managed to stick to my line and i felt fast, but its hard to judge when the adrenaline is pumping. that last stretch of the wall killed me and i ended up just coasting down to the finish. i couldn't even stand up after i got off the bike, my legs gave out from under me...who was it that said downhilling was easy? o well, i had a freaking blast despite being so out of shape that i couldn't pedal the wall. it was really great to be back out there after a long hiatus and i lost my voice from cheering/heckling everyone yesterday

in conclusion, looks like i'm gonna hit the road bike again and work on intervals and getting my base back...watch out F class, i'm coming back and will be back of the pack again

More pics of Sunday! I only got up to a few of the "W" riders as my battery was dieing! I guess my little point-n-shoot camera can't handle all that action!
I'll be upgrading to a better camera, hopefully by next race.

I'm always amazed at the quality of pics that Eric Foltz, Sharky, Andy (Bluefire), TK Castle, Christopher Wood, Dino, take. ( did I miss anyone :-k )
I'm always inspired to take more and better pics when I look at their work!
Good job guys...and gal! ;)

Enjoy!

In the Z class you see here, all the riders on the podium were with in 1.49 seconds. Now thats tight! Thats me with the small one, trophy that is. Good racing though.

Dood thanks again for popping my shoulder back... hope my screams and whimpers didn't traumatize you too much.

My RR:
Worked all day Sat, Partied hard Sat Nite, 1 practice run Sunday, disasterous race run. Those fast flowy courses always screw me up. Looking forward to the next race... now where's my vicodin?
