The prelim map of the course is up and running. This is going to be a super fun race with some challenging new trails.

The Expo will be going Saturday the 3rd and Sunday. On Sunday we will also have the shuttles running for anyone who wants to check out some of the demo gravity / trail bikes. We have a bunch of companies coming out with full demo fleets. The shuttle will cost $5 for all day.
Also dont forget we are having a party in the Vail Lake village Saturday evening after the Marathon Race. We have some great live music and the saloon will be rockin! Great weekend to camp out at Vail. Discounted camping if you mention The race!

    Elevation ?/ lap

It figures to be about 1850 per lap

Make sure you guys tell Vail that you are racing with us. Merlot Mesa camping spots are going for $35. Thats pretty good for Vail.

At one point was this event or some other SoCal Endurance event 100 miles and not "just" 50?

Looks like fun... but the font size and colors on that website just sent me into seizures.

    Info

Hi Maven - yes there was a time when this was going to be a 100 miler. I am still working this out. A lot of the permits and folks who issue these permits have gone through changes. It is very hard right now to link permitting together. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. With the new laws governing state and national parks I am making serious headway. I should have a premier 100 venue within the next 2 years. My goal is to put on a classic event. Not just a pieced together bunch of fireroads!

Surly Lady! I am anxious to see you guys out at the event. The demo's alone are going to be off the hook! We will have tons of folks coming out for the expo. But you gotta make sure you guys come out on Saturday eve for the festivities. That is going to be super fun! Hopefully Neil can race, but if not it will still be great to see you guys out there.

    Stay tuned more to come!

Ok cool. I thought I was going crazy. I went back a few months after readying the original announcement and the distance was different.

Sounds awesome Jason! A 100 mile race would be amazing. Heck even a 100KM would be killer.

    Thanx Maven

I appreciate the messages. I would love to get together some time and pick your brain on some longer courses and long range routes!

    Hey Jason,

Just curious when the course will be rideable and when there will be a garmin download for it.

And will there by a clydesdale division? I'm still just barely over 200 and wondering if I need to hang on to these last couple pounds... 8-[

    Race Info

Hey John, I should have the GpS file soon! I am just getting the trails up and rolling right now. Everything is looking good. But a few sections need a little work. I will be hopefully getting the GPS File tomorrow morning. So I should have it up by the evening.
As far as a Clydes class goes. I didnt have one for this race. Maybe it will force you to just lose that extra pound, and be a super fast guy! HEHE
But Of course the 12 Hour Clyde class is filling up nicely. After looking at the overalls. That is a very fast class! Anyways I will post again tomorrow and get that GPS file up on the web!:bang:

Ok Jason. I guess I can race with all the 160 pounders. I roll down hill faster anyway.

I'm in.....the distance is perfect for a Saturday race. While I like 100mi or 12hr events I don't have to worry about so many details with a 50 miler
