The city just ordered mandatory evacuation orders for San Pasqual Valley including Bandy Canyon--which is essentially Mule Hill. Not a real loss, but if it DOES get that close, this thing will be wildly out of control in all sorts of neighborhoods. They expect the fire to hit that area around 1-2am if the winds hold...

Poway High School was just ordered to evacuate too, and it was previously designated as the evacuation center. It might be gettin' bad over here...

Let's hope everyone gets out and is safe!

The Fire Chief just said the south end of the fire is headed toward Sycamore Canyon. I think they just finished the rebuild of the ranger station.

whoops, that was weird... didn't mean to post up both threads.

what the holy hell... 3 threads. sorry people.

Ok, the news just mentioned Hemet...wtf. Doug, I hope that isn't true.

It'll still need to come pretty far before the Eastern Hodges/Mule Hill stuff goes. Sycamore Canyon on the other hand may be in big trouble.

The wind is literally howling up here in Fallbrook. I couldn't sleep because it's so loud. Palm trees outside are bending and swaying at some pretty wild angles too.

Bandy Canyon rd runs right through the valley on the east side of Mull Hill...all of those people are ordered out right now. Hopefully it will stop before coming that far.

Ya, I was watching the news too. I figure thats more of a pre-emptive thing. What I'm saying is, the fire would have to travel a pretty good distance to hit the trails out there.

It's in South Hodges. They've just announced evacuations for my area.

Hope everyone is ok.

Yeah. Seriously SD peeps. I'm in Oceanside in a very clean pocket of air. If anyone needs a place to go to let me know. I HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM! (i have a nice garage for your bikes also!)

Crazy this morning. Deja Vu of Cedar Fires. My friend lives right by Lake Hodges & said people were driving & parking their off-road trucks, long travel buggies & old classic cars at the mall. Either they don't have insurance or don't want them destroyed by fire.

Justin's sister in Ramona was evacuated last night some time. Dave from DSC on KGB was evacuated from Poway also.

Hope everyone's staying safe and don't forget to NOT ride your bikes for a few days :)

Lots of SD peeps will be online today! They've been requesting no one go to work unless they are emergency personnel (lucky bastids - JUST KIDDING).

This sucks been up all night. This wind is crazy bunch of trees busted up and a few of the plants that did have leafs don't now.

I live between Poway Rd and Scrips Poway Parkway backed up to the 67. I see smoke towards MT Woodson and more towards Lakeside. We have a clear pocket with a little smoke in the foothills here.

I don't think anything is near Sycamore Canyon. If it does get hit it will be from the 67 staging side near Lakeside.

Poway is clearing out from Lake Poway north to Rancho Bernardo. We haven't been asked to leave but I might just head down to SD with the wife and kid.

I hope everyone else is safe. Even without the fire the wind has been enough of a pain in the butt.

It's bad right now & getting worse due to the high winds.. With the winds so high they can't fly the planes. We need a break in the winds so they can put some fire retardent down. They're claiming this will be the worst fire SD has ever seen.

I worked down there during the last fire, and I already think from just listening to the radio it is worse. They weren't requiring people to stay home, and the radio peeps were actually on the whole time, instead of playing news.

Pretty crazy. Just heard like 7 houses in Escondido were lost.

You can see on the news, homes in Rancho Bernardo burning down now catching on fire. They have like 10 miles of the 15 closed.

Crazy.. From 78 down to 56 closed in between the 15 to like Del Dios.. I have heard that people trying to evacuate you can get through on 15.

Fire in Descanso also. Hope that doesn't move west to Alpine or east to Pine Valley..

Working down in Chula today...school was not cancelled but everyone is on edge.

I was not here during the Cedar, but I read about and saw how bad it was. Am hoping that everyone remains safe.

My colleague had to drive up to RB and evacuate her elderly grandparents. They are still stuck on Pomerado Road after an hour of waiting.

It was pretty bad.. the sky from SD all the way up to Temecula was just brown/orange for days...

Also hope Doug is good.. Fire in Fallbrook also. Wonder if he is doing emergency stuff via work?? Heard the courts were closed today so personnel could help out.
