Singletrack Angel, TalksWithFoxes and I were fortunate enough to get a guided tour of the new Hardwood Trail in SCST today. Trail conditions were good with very overgrown plants in places. Simply beautiful out there today followed up by some sweet Hop Stoopid at Pizza Port. Thank you Team Smitty and Mr Hobbs for the gracious hospitality and being wonderful tour guides!

Yeah I know...I know. But I can't do it this weekend. Working on Sunday so that means no riding on Saturday for me...the 24 hour rule.

that's amazing how much growth has occurred, the last time i was there was when poor Cragar took a digger. amazing

Really want to suggest anyone ride SCST before it gets too dry. It's not to be missed right now!

Happy to show you guys the hardwood loop.
We are going to wait until it dries out a bit and a line develops before that loop gets anymore work done to it, until then we'll just have to blaze through the grass.

I'm gonna go hit up the SCST this morning around 10:30-11. To go try the Hardwoods ST. Smitty's right, the riding does not get much better back there. It's amazing what a little rain will do. Those plant grow fast!

Found this on geoladders. I'm gingin it a try this morning!

What time did you folks ride? I was there with xhuskr and friends in the AM. It was funtastic. I have never been there before I and all I can say to anyone that has not been there the Singletracks are *beyond* fun.

We criss-crossed a bunch of them, lots of up close vegetation. Rode a couple more than once, because they just needed to be ridden more than once. Xhuskr has some picture of the cool little wooden bridges etc, (he should post them soon) then we went a way south on a very fun ST, thee one close to the road toward the beach, and then went a little out of the way and climbed up and over (more than we wanted) an down from behind the sports complex and then rode more single track because we just had too!

We logged about ~15 Miles with 2500+ft of climbing (more climbing than we intended) but what the hey! It was fun too!

We also ended up at the Pizza Port. I have every other Friday off, keep me in mind for Friday Rides.

On a wider note:
The weather, trail and such are soooo perfect right now, today after the Pole climb in El Moro, I was just forced to stop and enjoy the view (I have probably ridden there at least 100 times) but the view has just stunning, Green, Yellow, Purple, the Ocean this giant Red Tailed Hawk riding the ridges. Several people beside me were just standing there gaping mouths just enjoying what we are blessed with.

Rode there for the first time today. About 11am.
Fun single track. Rode quite a bit, but not as much as I'd have liked.
There was a lot of vegatation, to where the trail was almost invisible!
I too hit a couple wood bridges.
even slid out and laid the bike down on a trail due to my own inattention.
Took it slower than I'd have liked, but as a new trail and riding alone, I
error on the side of caution.

This trail is recommended for a fairly short trail, but lots of fun single track. One thing I
noticed is there is more ST here than just about any other trail Ive been on recently.

Thanks for this thread, I experienced a new area!
50 miles round trip, but all freeway so it went quick...
After the ride was going to get some food, and realized I left the house w/o my wallet.... so no food and drove the speed limit all the way home #-o
