Thanks sir crash, I'm gonna check out the site, and see if I can print it out. I hope you can make it.
I honestly didn't think there would be very many peeps willing to ride on this day. I'll keep my fingers crossed for everyone on the Maybe list. This should be a fun exploration ride for those of us who haven't been here yet. I think its going to be a great ride to ring in the new year. Looking forward to seeing ya'll there tomorrow.

Sir Crashalot is right. That is a good trail to start on. It's called "Holeshot" or "Fences+" by others. HEad straight after crossing the rocky barricade by the dog park and be ready for fun right off the bat. Sir Crashalot rode with us last week down there at SCST and here's our ride report which has a link to our Geoladders route. This was a FULL TOUR of SCST and was really fun. It took us about two hours pedal time if I recall.

I'm really thinking about coming out there tomorrow. I've only been riding for about 3 months now, so I am not quite sure if I'm up to riding SCST yet. I've been on Tijeras, the hills off of Antonio (behind Ladera), Aliso Woods (once) and Fullerton Loop (once). Any thoughts? Really don't want to slow down the group.

I'm not sure how technical it is, but I can assure you that you won't slow anyone down.

Going to run this one by the wife tonight at our party after 2 drinks, before 4. That is usually a decent window for success.:drunk: Timing is everything:)

Holidays are a big family deal for her, but I've been off 5 days, so.....

It's cool of the others to invite you no matter what, but be warned there are some techincal or "finesse" areas that won't be fun for some beginners. While I say techincal, it's not really techincal/dangerous but requires really good balance, power and bike handling skills to clean most of the trails. That said, if you are open to challenges you should go check it out. There's nothing quite like it in OC and you can always walk parts that sketch you out.

Me, and mostly my better half thank you, as I might have been forced to try and sneek hers out of the home....and I have noticed a trend when I do things like that....I break stuff, purely by accident, therefore, you are preventing me from accidentaly breaking my wifes dslr, and her from strangling me.:)

Goddammit-i went for a quick ride after work today in Aliso and slashed my rear tire (but I have a backup) and broke my rear axle!(Mavic Crossmax xl 2005) When i got home and took the wheel off to change the tire, half the axle came out with the quick release. 2d time in 3 months, that's the last straw I'm getting new wheels. the quick release still holds the axle together so the bike still rolls with no bad symptoms. It's probably been that way a while, and would explain the annoying spoke creaks. i may decide it'll hold together for one more ride, if I show up I'm the dude with the ancient white toyota pickup. Hope I have time to make the ride, depends on the gf, you know how it goes.
p.s. Anyone have a spare wheel?:(

Sorry to hear that bro. Maybe you just need to take more time with the back rubs?

That's my job. I'm the token sandbag.
