haha yes indeed that was me. A lot of people got a good laugh out of it. Hell even Bobby from 661 was like "here are some free socks. Just for wearing the cape..."

quite a few people also couldn't help but point out that the neck brace was a smart purchase, because of my "unique" riding style.

 

:bang: rock that cape! I was standing a few feet away from you at the parking lot while you were putting it on... the cape looked like it came with the neck brace 8) cool!

 

haha yeah, I actually tied it into the neck brace. 8)

What bike were you riding? I was chatting with a few people that was parked next to my car.

I just went there to take pics... actually my first time at a MTB race... it was great! now I have to put my balls together and join next year :bang:

He ended up getting that tape completely wound around his cassette you could see his frustration looking back at his tire poor guy!! He ended up getting last because of it.

 

His name is Nick...

I felt sooo bad for him! #-o
First race... Super fast run... He was racing with his best friend (SocalRidur).
Near the wall, he literally had to get off the bike and pick away the pieces (it completely locked up). Worst part was he was having an EXCEPTIONALLY fast run!
No doubt in my mind, he would have made a run at the podium!

That Friggin Blows, I mean seriously, that was a hell of a recovery, and the tape got stuck and took him out. Damn, That hurts just thinking about it.

 

Drop D, i'm feelin the same about racing!

 

For anyone who is toying with the idea of racing, Just go for it, most important part of racing....HAVING FUN, who cares if you win, just go hang out, ride, and have a good time.

 

I agree, honestly for me the best part of racing is hanging with people I don't ride with or see on a regular basis. Yeah it sucks when you do bad but a lot of people have much more DH seat time then some of us when we started racing. Hell my race was my 5th day riding my DH bike and 6th on any DH bike. I just went for it and had a blast.

And the best part is all these people take and post cool pics of you from the race:lol:

 

So glad to hear you say this we rib everyone about their race runs for fun but no one really gives a crap if you make mistakes if they do they're an idiot that's not what it's about. The more mistakes the more we have to laugh about with not at you. If I race 4x it's purely for fun if I crash or don't do a perfect run so be it the track is a blast! If anyone thinks they're so perfect they can critisize my run you best be wearing a cup :wave:haha. You all need to come out it's all about having fun and Donny puts on a great race to do it!! Talked to Donny out there last week and hear some great things in store for the 4x area YAY!!!!!!

Edit:I've been watching these races since the 2006 season I'd be curious to know what year they started out there? And who was there for the first race?

Seriously, its just another day out for a ride, with more BullShitting iwhile you wait for the shuttle. Its a good time, I could get first, or dead last. If I have fun, its all good!!!!
