Any other girls in the LA area going? Want to car pool/practice/share a room? I already have a room there. I want to drive up early Saturday to practice. Have the room Saturday night only. PM me if interested.

    Thanks!

The past 2 years they have opened up Hanger 18 for both Friday and Saturday night for $10(fri) and $20(sat). Hanger 18 is their main indoor skate park. Im guessing it will be open to ride this year also.

Looking forward to this race. Even if im not racing I still like to ride the course and the hanger. Also I finally get to use mu new camera.

Seems like a slight thread hijack in progress. Hope the OP gets their answer.

I was not overly impressed with the Woodward course for last race it was DESTROYED half way through first day of practice there. Sad part is there is a ton of cool stuff they could have used. The hangar was quite cool though and would have loved to been able to ride. Hopefully they build a better DH course but I dont see myself driving up for that race this year.

The first Woodward race last year was better I think. A little longer I believe.
I think I had read somewhere that Woodward is offering a MTB summer camp now. If that's the case, I hope the DH course will be a little nicer this year.

I think the reason we cant have a course that hits the fun stuff at woodward it for insurance reasons. I remember hearing something about the waver/insurance not covering the woodward DH obstacles. (jumps/ladders/drops).

they have done a summer DH camp for the last 3 years, I don't think this will help the course.... I think they do pretty well for what they have to work with....and not being able to use any "man made" features....

I have never been to one of these races, however, I will be deciding whether or not I will be able to make here in the next couple of weeks indeed. Therefore I am down to split a room with some peeps as needed.

I was up there about 4 weeks ago, and I stopped to talk two them about the up coming race, they told me they had done a bunch a work to the dh course already but it did not look like it.

What else they might plan to do I dont know. They also told me that there is no on sight camping or room for campers and what not. So where to stay other than the lodge I dont know.

Not to be a downer I got kinda bummed when I went there to check it out.
I would like to race this one but with out camping and what not I dont think funding will allow it.

Hope to maybe see ya guys there but if not good luck, and have fun.

P.s I have not done the race there, I would appreciate if some one could fill me in, but after walking the hill there the runs seem ever shorter than fontana. How long is the average race run?

I would say its longer plus no wall. I only practiced the second race last year it wasnt technical, I remember on drop a handful jumps and lots of lose blown out turns. It was fun that day but that was also only 2nd time on a DH bike looking back it was not all that.

Sucks the camping is no-go!! It can't be that expensive to pay for a hotel when a *few* share the room.

I'll be there because i'm racing the series - So I guess that means I don't get to choose what course suits me best ;) - instead I get to ride all sorts of courses and try my best at all of them (there is only 4 & it's best of 4, so i'm racing all 4).

See everyone in a few weeks :)

ps - isn't this course kinda like Sea Otter's just not as long less the uphill pedaling??
