Rider down on Lynx trail in Aliso Woods?

At 11 a.m. this morning, there was a black-and-white helicopter hovering about 50 feet above Lynx trail. There was also a firetruck on the ridge road at the top of Lynx. I had seen several riders who looked familiar, possibly STR members, in the vicinity earlier. So check up on your buddies if they were out at Aliso this morning.

Hope they are ok. I was just riding Lynx the other day. There is a section about 2/3rds down the trail that drops off abruptly at high speed (passed the techy rock section). Its developed a crack down the middle to right side. You can't see it until you are commited when flying. I wonder if they caught the front tire on that spot. Be careful. It would hurt going down there at the speeds you can go.

 

i know exactly that spot you are talking about Olis1.. I rode it last week for the first time in a long time and "OH SH*T" There is was.. luckily I pulled up and out of it..

 

Yep, and you can really be moving good thru there.

 

Best to ride up the trail first....

 

Maybe when I turn 70 too I'll start climbing Lynx like you, OMR

I was riding at that time too... saw two helicopters. I believe one was Mercy Air and the other OCFA helo. Just before I saw them I heard sirens. The Rangers were all gone from the Ranger station at 1200 when I got back. Hopefully everyone is OK.

Hey, that's EXACTLY where I went down...broke my tibia and fibula along with tearing ligaments. Did what you said, jumped and landed in the rut. I guess I'm lucky because it could have been way worse.
