Haha, is that a Resolution in the front? I'm running the same set up and liking them. Resi 2.3 Front, Capitan 2.0 rear.

I told my buddy shopping for new tires that I really like the Captain in the rear. Doh! #-o

decided my vulture was getting a bit porky and I always wanted a silver wheelset for it, so a few changes were made:

Wheelset (Hopes, Comps, and Arches) + went tubeless
    08 xt brakes
    fmf hollowpin bmx chain
ti handlebar swap (took off the jones bars).

Dropped 2.5 lbs. Now just a hair over 23 lbs.

(and Reso front / Captain in the rear, also my fav combo)

That new wheelset look great... I run the same tire combo without issue until about 15 minutes before the start of my cross country race this weekend at Fontuckey when while during a little warm up I hear PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT that is all folks... Cut side wall and dead ft tire.... Mechmann helped me out with a tube (Been tubeless for a while and Stan had left the wheel) and a Park patch thingy to cover the rip in the side wall and away I went... Barely made the start of the race:clap::clap: a big thank you to Justin Mann for saving my @$$

    really old skool

ok..I finally took the bike down and took photos for the thread. It seems I'm not the only one to convert a Univega, but so far the only one who runs an Amp Research fork up front. Not clean......full of left over parts with a few purchased over the years...laugh...I do

so light it has to be kept on the ceiling?

the AMP fork...all 2.25 inches of semi travel
    [IMG]

32x20 for mtn biking...easily converted to 39x16 for riding the bike path with the wife
    [IMG]

unique AMP linkage design and a sticker to further the torture of SS 8-[
    [IMG]

there you have it...my SS......not ridden often...but sure is fun at Fully!:)

The Vassago lasted about a month. The guy who bought my Niner about 8 months ago decided to sell and I couldnt pass it up. The Sir9 is the best 29er frame I have ridden and I only sold it to build a 6" bike for Moab. Ive missed it ever since. Now its mine again.

Nice build - I completely understand; but, your wife said one more bike and she's taking baby Taylor and leaving you! Do you realize that you've lost all credibility?

Here's a couple more up to date pics of my SS. I've found the (lame) ergo grips really helps on the long climbs that force you out of the saddle.
