2012 Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper HT 29er XTR

Thanks to my friends at Surf City in HB, I picked this bad boy up and was able to take it out on its maiden voyage today. The bike was ready for me 3 weeks ago, but I wasn't ready for it. Gotta say, Specialized got the color right and those XTR brakes are amazing. This thing flies. Stock off the rack, converted to tubeless and swapped out the Renegade on front to a Fast Track.

Now if I could somehow find the switch that makes it defy gravity on the ups.

Gears!

My Salsa El Mariachi 1x10 is the Swiss Army Knife of HTs. It does everything. It has taken me 2 weeks or so to get it all dialed in, but she now rides like a dream! After SSing for so long, I'd forgotten what it was like to sit & spin & climb.

I rode mine last night. Hard tail, 4" of travel, single trac. Night riding with no madmen to worry about dropping in on me. The mo fo beat the crap out of me. I was just like the 29er I rented. Sure I can ride it, grab some single trac air. I sure miss the Enduro, she kicks the schmitt out of the trail, the hard tail kicked the schmitt out of me.

Well, here's my 2011 DB Response Sport. I intend to keep it totally stock, barring if it actually needs a new part. Now I need to go out and test ride it and adjust brakes, levers and the preload adjust to get it just right. Had the LBS align and dial in my derailleurs earlier today, just couldn't get those playing nice for me. Everything else should be a cakewalk.

And I foresee a lot of 409 in my future to keep the white housings and grip ends clean.

Hm. Thought I had posted this earlier, but I don't see it.
Oh well. Finally finished restoring the abominable snowman:
