Old Camp: another Jeep over the side

Just put a Federal Court building at the top of Cadillac, and you'll have more vehicle barriers around the place than you know what to do with!

RIP: message to future Jeepers on this trail!

The Rubiclone Jeep still abides, having taken many hits, shattered windshield, now tagging, etc. But it has come to a rest (RIP) which looks secure. Anyone with a big enough backpack might think of removing the perfectly good engine, but I suspect that this carcas of a Jeep will rest in perpetuum (forever) as a reminder to any other hopeful Jeepers what their fate is, should they try something similar. In the meantime, it is a great place to take your date for a two-seater exprience in the wilderness :) Think of it as a shrine for the Darwin Award.

There is no purpose.....just like tagging it with paint. Just lack of respect.

No purpose, just like driving up a road not meant for traffic.

Scoped it out this Morning,

Pictures does NO Justice, looks like $hit. Not fun anymore to look at. I might as well be in Downtown L.A- Graffiti on the hood, REALLY.

Jeep drop more into the cut out of the mountain, but it looks secure.

Riding past the Rubiclone yesterday, 4 guys were stopped to investigate. I think someone might like to make money charging to visit the scene of the crime :)

Any updates? Does anybody know the legality of taking parts? There's a ton of stuff that's valuable from the last pictures but I won't touch it without the owners and forestry services permission.

Mario, have you been up there lately. I am wonderimg how it looks now.

Joe,

New years Eve, i was up there, Looks like Crap. Motor and Roll cage are in tacked..

No, but should return the money to your local Authorities. hahaha !

Then I'm screwed. Found $100 bills about 4-5 times.
In the middle of the desert ( really, pulled over to piss and there it was, half buried in the sand), on the floor of a bank ( they said to keep it and I tried to return it), in a parking lot ( no one anywhere in the lot), the middle of a street at 4am...
The best was leaving Ralphs when I was just first moved out on my own. Found $20 when all I had was 15.00 for food, that REALLY came in handy.
...and here I thought it was luck.

Posted 2/2/2014 at by 06:12 PM - Superbly solo singletrack sojourn so satisfies! Afternoon ride on empty trails was very pleasant. The approaching storminess made for an interesting backdrop, and luckily I was prepared for the colder temps. Came across a couple Jeeps, and a team of guys who had just managed to salvage and muscle the engine, the exhaust and several body panels off the Jeep. They managed to turn the whole thing over! Last time I went off on a couple guys for driving out there and salvaging - they took the hardtop and roll cage I think. This time, I'm like, what the hell, at least now there is less and less reason for these guys to keep driving out here and destroying the trail. I think I'm over it. Quite the brisk descent, but totatlly had the place to myself! Awesome! Great Riding on Happy Trails!
