Mt Pinos MTB Weekend Take Three For Intermediate Mountain Bikers but okay for beginners who want to challenge themselves. If ya want to come up and just hang out that's fine too. Also we'll be under a full moon all weekend. Hey All The last two years we had a small group but had a great time riding. If you like downhill single-track through alpine forest this is a ride for you and with shuttle availability there's no reason why we can't get in 10,000ft of vertical in a day. McGill Campground is where we'll stay, there are family sites at $12 a night and are first come first serve sites with 2 vehicle per site. With 100 +/- sites available and because this is Mt Pinos ya never have to worry about crowds, I think last year there were a total of 10 sites being used. Can you say, "Peaceful at night". Details Time: Sometime Friday night at McGill or you can meet up w/ us on Saturday morning Friday: Arrive, I should be able to get there before dark and I'll try to secure as many campsite as we need, close together Saturday: Ride w/ potluck later and yes that means gooooooooood food Sunday: Headout Trail: Single-track and beautiful Direction From I-5, take the Frazier Park exit west ( also signed as Mt. Pinos Recreation Area). Frazier Park is about 3 miles north of Gorman. Stay on Frazier Park Road, avoid the left turn at the intersection of Lockwood Valley Road about 7 miles from I-5, continuing on the right as Frazier Park Road becomes Cuddy Valley Road. At about 11.5 miles from I-5, stay left on Mt. Pinos Highway . McGill Campground is approximately 5 miles further on the north side of road. I'll have a sign posted to tell ya which campground we'll all be at. McGill is a great trail... and easy to shuttle for shuttle monkeys. As I remember, McGill campground is dry.. take water. They do have toilets. Makes the ladies happy.

IMO, one of the best socal trails out there. Super sweet for people that enjoy climbing single track. Too bad I have other plans already.:-k

So is their going to be a shuttle available and is their a $cost for that ?.
would you guys be riding Sunday and Saturday

It will be not so great when the shuttlers are done. More braking bumps and more dust.

10,000 feet of vertical they say. How much is climbing?
