some notes:
6 speed not terribly available. (dammit!) apparently VERy limited- like less than 100 total with the 6 speed.
my parents test drove the GTS and a Cayenne S back to back and my dad mentioned that the GTS feels like an absolute rocket next to the S, but he did mention that the S is no slouch at all.

I know some of the newer electronic shifty things are nice and all, but a car really should have three pedals and a shifter.

porsche is working on the DSG thing for their cars and when they get that strong enough you will have a tough time

tip was tip just a glorified slush box...DSG (dual sequential gear) is a VW thing which they're trying to adapt to the Torsen awd system in the Audi and now for the rear engined P cars. problem w/ the DSG is it cant handle a lot of torque and when you're mating this sucker to a P-Car you better know it's going to be bulletproof. but the shifting on the DSG is FAST and the downshifts complete with engine matching revs makes you sound like aprofessional race car driver.

you talking about cvt? they've had that...i think the big push is DSG for the logitudinal mounted engine and AWD
