First off, huge thanks to Allison and Justin for putting this together. The riding and company was fun and amazing. It was finally nice to meet the others I hadn't meet yet [Allison, Justin, Keith, Sauce, Mark, and Lynn].
I would do these rides again in a heartbeat, but with a different bike no doubt and cooler temps would have been nice. The Highline was just more bike than what was needed for Gooseberry and Thunder Mtn.
For Jason and I the trip started Saturday morning with a drive to St. George to meet up with Justin and group. A quick bit to eat and we were off to meet up with Dell, Dean, Nam, Scott and Lynn at the Gooseberry trailhead.
Once at the trail head we were off and riding.
Sauce hitting the first roller.
Follow the dots Dell, I didn't and ended up OTB from a wheel grabbing crevice just a few feet in front of where he is... Ouch!
The views and vistas were just simply amazing.
Keith, Allison and Nam [Nam making this photo NOT look weird]
Gooseberry is a really fun place to ride. Not a lot of flow for those of you looking for that type of singletrack, but this is a place you need to experience for yourself. Lots of rock to explore and session if you are into that stuff. Gotta give big thanks to Keith for giving up some of his liquids to me. I finished off most of my 3L I had a bit left but it was still frozen in the pack and it wouldn't/couldn't melt fast enough for me.
Calling it a day and heading out to grab some grub in Hurricane.
The west is still wild.
Thunder Mtn to follow.
