What lights would you suggest for someone on a budget?i wanna start night riding exspecialy for when its hot and gets dark early. How much do you think i should spend?

What kind trails? You could get away with something cheaper if you know the trail and there's not that many quick sharp turns.

A nice 20 watt halogen maybe? HID would be around 300 for a decent one.

i wanna be able to ride stt and maybe some other trails. i heard you can get away with riding between with 2 guys with lights if u know the trail if nto you can follow their line

If you plan on night riding on a normal basis, you may just want to take the plunge and just get a HID.

Wheel World is still blowing out some of the Niterider HID systems for $289. http://wheelworld.com/site/itemdetails.cfm?ID=3436&Catalog=39&sort=price

It's a decent chunk of change, but you won't end up spending money twice like I did. I started out and got a $100 halogen and thought that would be enough. After some night sessions, I realized this wasn't enough light for me to go full speed, so I ended up buying a HID.

The wide spread of a HID is helpful on the Luge.

I bought 2 really nice Halogens (Niterider Digital Evo for helmet and Classic Plus for handlebars) because I was told HID bulbs cost about $100 to replace should they break in a crash or whatever. Whereas halogen bulbs only cost $20 to replace. So, I spent the same amount of $$ on two halogens as what I would have spent on one HID. Granted the HID is brighter than a halogen, but my 2 lights throw out plenty of light to ride by.
