Looking at riding Kern Canyon Trail this winter. Thinking Sunday 1/29/12, Superbowl weekend 2/3/12-2/5/12, or other weekends coming up in February.

Anybody interested?

I've only ridden it once before which was this past fall. Started at the lower end trailhead adjacent to the Hwy. 178 bridge over the Kern. Rode up about a mile past the chainlink fence gate, then headed back. I think it's an 11 mile point ot point trail. The way I rode it resulted in climbing first, the return trip was primarily downhill. Would prefer to do it that way again. Always like to get the climbing done early. The climbing does level out in the middle, to more rolling ups/downs terrain.

Looking for other intermediate to upper intermediate riders who don't mind climbing, hitting some XC/trail then hitting a downhill on the way back.

A few teaser picks of nearby Keysville Classic trail which I rode this past weekend.

Their a lot of trails in the Kern River Valley, so numerous options exist to put together epics on the 30+ mile proportion. You can easily tie Keyesville to Kern Canyon for some serious mileage. I've read a few threads on such epics.
