Thats a good deal! And the fork for $39. Im looking to build a 29er as a kid puller as well. My daughter likes me pulling her up Matthis to TOTW. I think she is trying to get back at me for something.
This bike might be the way to go.

It would appear all the Zion frames are on sale. The regular, non-EBB frame is on sale for the same price.

No, I checked the site and like you found the all the Zion stuff is on sale. I would go full gears since it would be more of a beater bike around the neighborhood for hauling the boy...

Do you know what size travel the frame is designed for, e.g, anyone run a 100 mm fork on theirs? If price drops more then picking up one of these frames is almost like having spare tubes and tires in your garage, it would imprudent NOT to have such reasonably priced back-up. I think I'll try that logic on my wife, LOL! Also, regarding rolling on the 29er in general (I don't know nothing about a SS), I have found that riding mine with a wider bar helps with climbs. I put a monkey lite carbon low rise on my 29er and it looks like I have wings with the bar ends, LOL.

Geometry is based on a 80mm travel 29'er fork (i.e. Rockshox Reba 29). The Zion 29" fork is suspension-corrected for perfect handling if you prefer a rigid fork

Other than the lack of disc tabs, how's this compare to the Redline at Pricepoint?

I'm thinking my next bike will be a rigid SS 29er.
