Hi all,
The weather's great and if you have any xmas money left over let me recommend the best biking upgrade you can make: a pro clinic. Joe Lawwill, former pro DH racer and local OC resident is running a couple of January clinics in Aliso Woods.

As a former student and (full disclaimer) former Bikeskills affiliated lackey I highly recommend this class.

For beginners to intermediates. You can find the schedule and contact info here. There are clinics on Jan 18 and 31, 2009.

Yes they do and it is free too. But it is for beginners....a great class never the less but geared only to beginners. Then they pitch their intermediate class......fee based of course.

I took this when I got back on the bike, I was actually just what I needed. I was having trouble getting use to FS, set up etc.. , plus I had a few friends take me on a ride that was over my head for my skills and bike(plus they all were on DH/FR bikes). I knew I had my old skills somewhere inside me but in my few rides they were no where to be found. He helped find them , plus stopped a few bad habits I seemed to have. It will help provide good base for a beginner/intermediate rider.

not really, the schedule at Fontana is so tight now that it is impossible for me to give a quality session while trying to race,

i do have plans for a video, we are using a program called Dartfish it will have a lot of cool features that will enable riders to see the results of good and bad form.

If your looking for hands on stuff Joe and the bike skills guys have the format down, and from what i hear give a quality instruction.

I always wanted to do a trail ride clinic but for 89 bones I don't know. :?: The bike set up advice would probably be very helpful and beneficial. Maybe in the spring. :-k

I realize it's totally biased for me to say this but what other sport can you get a pro in a small class for less than $25 an hour per person? And not a local "golf pro" or "tennis pro" but someone who competed at the highest level?

Beyond that it's 89 bucks invested in the future. I think the skills and fundamentals learned here are used to develop more advanced skills down the line.

Again, totally biased so take it for what it's worth. Maybe some folks who have taken the class and don't have an affiliation with Bikeskills can give their opinions.
