Hello all,

I'm an out of shape newbie who recently bought his first bike in 13 years and plans to slowly ride back into shape. I've only ridden a few times on the street next to my condo plex and will probably start ridding beach paths soon before upgrading to fire roads. I'm not usually a prolific poster in online forums, but I've been known to chime in now and then.

Sup, I'm born and raised in the LBC. Welcome to the site. There seems to be a small group of Strong Beach folks on here. I sold out and moved to South Orange County.

Nice, another strong beacher! Once you get a little bit of singletrack under your belt you should join us on the Del Cerro rides!

Wow, there's even a LB welcoming committee here... cool! Thanks for the welcome and invites for the rides. It's probably going to be a while before I build up my stamina and drop a few pounds so I won't look too pathetic while riding with a group. Well, hopefully not too long. Can you guys point me to some fire roads where I can practice climbing/descending?
