Day Ten:Fruita; Kokopelli trails
I didn't want to leave Larry without the vehicle, so I decided to ride to the trails. What I thought was only a couple road miles to the trailhead turned out to be 10 miles. Since I was riding solo I skipped the toughest trail there (Moore Fun) and rode the remaining singletrack trails. Even the easy trails had some nasty sections in them which made for a challenging and scenic day. I rode the singltrack sections of Rustlers loop, Horsethief Bench, Mary's loop, Steve's, Handcuffs, Lions and Troybuilt. After about 3 miles of dirtroad back I decided to come back on Mary's loop. I don't have a computer on the big bike but it felt like 20miles. After hangin with some Harley bikers at the Loma gas station downing a quart of Gatorade I was ready for the 10 miles of pavement back to Fruita. The hot tub felt good that night.

Day Eleven:More Fruita.
The plan for today was a short ride north of town at the 18 Road area and then drive to Durango. I was again riding solo so I skipped the technical trails and played it safe with a 10 mile singletrack/dirtraod loop on Prime Cut/Frontside and Western Zippety. Got back quick so I had Larry shuttle me to the upper trailhead for a quick 1 mile ride down Kessell Run. Most of the trails in Fruita were built by bikers for bikers and it shows.

Did you check out Silverton very much? Super steep, but great trails if you can hook up with some of the locals.

We didn't check out any trails there. As you can see there was still snow on a lot of the higher elevation stuff.
