Never had them on a downhill bike but I have them on my Singlespeed. I weigh 220lbs; they have more stopping power than my Hayes Mags. Look at the MTBR website in the product reviews and you can learn about the turkey gobble.

Now that I know how to set them up and how to break them in. I would buy them again. Honest one finger braking.

ross, i have the Juicy 5's and love them, i'm sure you'dd like the Juicy 7's. like steppie said, check out the reviews on mtbr to see what others are saying about them. i'm assuming you are gonna get 8 inch rotors too?

riding the J5's and no issues at all (although at times a bit noisy). Think 7's have adjuster on lever but told by LBS and others who own may no be worth the extra $$$. not riding a DH rig but seem to have alot of stopping power (think i got 6" rotor and you may want bigger)

The link you posted from Pricepoint is $160 for each and I'm sure Jenson will pricematch them if you want to go with them.

Awesome brakes - I have them and love them. Recently solved the turkey wobble noise problem with new hayes rotors. The new models are supposed to be turkey wobble noise free (the '05's had that problem). I recently ordered a 7" rotor for the front too after Craig yelled at me. (jk about the yelling :beer

I run Hayes Mags on my DHR and RFX. I'd go with the Hayes Mags or Hope Mono M6 Ti for DH.
