I have a used Hopey steering damper in good condition. It is the standard model that fits 1-1/8" steerer tubes. This is kind of a newbi question...
Does that make your fork stiffer; something like converting a single-crown fork into a hybrid dual-crown?
Thats what it looks like from the picture.

I liked the Hopey damper, but I did not feel like it was necessary for my riding style. I am a pretty slow and conservative rider...so I don't think it was helping me much. However, it might be a good add-on for faster and more technical riders. Also, I had to take it off because it got in the way of my GPS that I mounted on the stem. It is definitely a cool product and gets great reviews...it just is not for everyone.
