Will a 10' metal Dow-boy pool work for a fire ring?

I just saw this, and it sounds interesting!

A few questions about the courses:
    - Is the DS course hardtail (Black Market Mob) friendly, or is rear suspension (Intense Tazer VP) preferred?

    - Is the DH course "small bike" (SlopeStyle) friendly, or is a full DH bike (M6) preferred?

This looks cool. What gear is required for the DH? This would be my first race ever if I go so any tips would be great.

    A bike and a helmet:lol:

Seriously I would wear a Full Face helmet, and knee pads at least. I wear either forearm and leg armor w. helmet or a upper body suit and leg armor w/ helmet. It really comes down to what you feel most comfortable wearing or not wearing.

Cool. I normally wear FF helmet w/googles, gloves and knee pads anyways. I think I might do it.

I'd probably run a 36 up front (I run that everywhere) and either an 12/27 or 11/34 cassette. ;) But it's not required, just optional.

SlickShoe: I'd recommend bringing spare parts too. derailleur hanger, a pair of tires (lots of tubes too), and a seat and set of wheels if you've got them. it sucks to drive all the way to a race, pay for your admission, and have a mechanical during practice that makes you not race.

other than that, bring your SHID. shoes, helmet, ID, and of course, your Bike. oh, and a good attitude :)

Lee: you have too many bikes. just pick one and ride it. I think the M6 should handle the DS pretty well

Mark: race both. if you can afford it, you won't regret it.

other than that, I don't have money or time this weekend, so I'm going to have to pass. I'm all over southridge though...

I am bringing my Foes 4X for DS and my Socom for DH. There are some jumps and rollers on the DS course, so HT is out of the question for me.

As far as the DH course, you can go with a smaller bike, but there are some jumps and a big drop which are far more fun on a big bike (for us mere mortals at least). :)

Just seeing the words 'jumps' and 'big drops' may influence me to bag the USC/UCLA football game on Saturday for some DH fun :-k

Do all classes run the same course or is there a easier course for the beginners?

This will be my first comp. but im not a newbie as far as riding. Should I just reg in the beginner class?

Providing you're asking about DH, it's the same course for all classes. The drop has 2 alternate lines, one is a roller, the other is an actual go around. And all of the jumps can be rolled. As a beginner, you'll be fine!!! ;)
