My family and I have fallen in LOVE with the sport. Our 12 year old son races in Fontana and our family trips have been centered around mountain biking..Mammoth, San Luis Obispo Area, Bootleg, amd Zion.. we LOVE IT!!!! I would love to ride locally more often.. If there are any Cool Chics out there up for some rides please let me know. I am in Corona and riding distance from the beginning of skyline, I am also willing to travel. I am not the most skilled rider and definitely not ashamed of walking my bike down a intimidating hill... I would love the company of peeps that love the sport as much as I do... Happy Trails!!!!
Rollingmama, do you ever ride Sycamore Canyon? I've never actually ridden w/ anyone but my man, but he's been trying to get me to find women to ride with. He doesn't like me going alone if he's not available, and he's right-- it's not exactly safe. I'm in (East) Ontario, so we're not that far from each other.
RIDING FRIENDS... I am so excited I could CRY!! hmmm.. Sycamore Canyon.. NOT YET!!! We have done San Juan Trail, Chino Hills and our local mountains(within pedaling distance)most. My husband and son are more downhill focused.. like Mammoth and Baldy(which I do enjoy)... But momma here, is just out looking for exercise AND FUN!! We are not that far, let me know if you have any crazy ideas... I am GAME!!! ROCK ON NERDGIRL:bang:
Heh, well, I'm a big downhill girl myself, but Sycamore Canyon is wonderful just because there is something for everyone there. Actually, when I first started riding, the first little route I created for myself was very mellow. However, that being said, it had just enough downhill for it to be the proverbial "gateway drug" for me and I discovered that I wanted a lot more of that! As long as a trail isn't entirely uphill, I'll ride just about anything that my lungs can handle. I've been hesitant to try riding with anyone else besides my boyfriend, simply because I am severely asthmatic and it requires that I have to stop periodically and rest. For people who want to keep moving, it can be frustrating. Heck, it's even frustrating for him sometimes; he deserves the Infinite Patience Award. (On a positive note, mountain biking has improved my asthma to where I am feeling the best I've felt, well, ever!) So if that kind of thing wouldn't bother you, send me a PM and we'll talk some more.
:welcome: from Riverside. We ride Sycamore Canyon usually on Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:00pm. Let me know if you want to join us!!!
This is SOOO amazing, I have been begging several friends for a couple years to be riding partners and no bites... My hubby has been telling me to post on STR I would find some "partners in crime"... Thank you EVERYONE!!!!
Welcome to STR! I'm jealous. I wish my wife had an interest in MTB. She's 5 months pregnant with our first kid (a girl) though, so right now I guess it doesn't matter...she couldn't go out and ride anyway. LOL. You can bet that i'll be gettin that kid out onto a bike AS SOON as heavenly possible though! This kid's gonna be an MTB'er if it's the last thing I do! Anyway, Welcome again to STR!
