Any must ride trails in the SB/SLO and even Moro Bay area?:?: Heading out Sunday am..
Thnx for any help!

Montana De Oro is a nice ride... great singletrack... fantastic ocean view (when it's not foggy). It is about 15 miles west of San Luis Obispo. From 101 North exit Los Osos Valley Road exit. Turn left at stop light... keep driving straight until you hit the ocean (about 15 miles through Los Osos). North boundry trail has a fun downhill with some jumps. Have fun.

Cerro San Luis "Madonna Mountain"

Multiple tracks including Fireroad or Singletrack. Also technical rock garden off top.
Web site includes GPS tracks for this and multiple other local rides.

Horse Camp Trail. Starts fire road then very scenic and somewhat difficult singletrack.

See http://www.cccmb.org/ for detailed trail maps.

Hazard Peak Trail--Montano de Oro Park

Two routes to top. First steep and very difficult. Second is steady climb. Look for left off trail about 100 yards into ride for the steady climb. Recommend continue past top to Eastern Boundary and then to the fire road. 9 mile loop

See www.cccmb.org for detailed map

This is one of our favorite trails. I've seen folks ride up this, but we prefer to shuttle.
Here's a video I found on a search (not us).

what's the trail name?

Sorry. Morning Glory, Yewks, and Escalator. It's all in the cccmb.org site on the left side under trail maps. Go to West Cuesta Ridge.
There's also Shooters, below Morning Glory- lots of fun. You can do two shuttles in about 2 hours.

It will be Xhuskr & I rolling up there for a quick overnight trip to sample new dirt. I've ridden MdO before (surfed it too...oops, I'm not supposed to talk about that). I've spent a lot of time in the SLO/Morro region, so I know my way around in general, but I've only ridden Montana and one funky but fun local trail in Orcutt.

The rough plan is to do a fairly solid ride in the morning on the way up, then maybe a short easy ride that evening, camp at MdO and ride it the next morning, then head for home (and maybe, maybe another easy loop somewhere on the way back...maybe). We'll either do part of the Backbone trail near Malibu on the way up, or keep going and hit something closer to SLO, so we're open to suggestions for routes around there. Poly Canyon and Morning Glory seem like a good option, and it seems to me I've heard of some interesting stuff near Lake Lopez too. Outside of those and the short Madonna Mtn routes, I don't know anything else around there.

Pretty much looking for intermediate, fun XC trails (scenic singletrack preferred), but if there's a bit of chunk or steeps, that's OK. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Well then, have a good frigin time...damn. It's like sex and pizza, when it's good it's really good and when it's bad, it's still pretty darn good.

I love new trails, all of them....
