If you throw a rock into a pack of dogs the one who yelps the loudest is the one who got hit by the rock. happy easter
What a beautiful day it is today , the first Sunday of Spring and a day to reflect ,acknowledge , and appreciate how blessed we all are . Im just so stoked to be a part of STR and wish everyone a great Easter and just give Thanks to God for all of this , I'm always throwin out a nuget tryin to find out who's a believer and how they became that way , I know we have all had our trials , Ive got a sick testamony , my life has changed big time , hit me up some time , I would like to hear your story too
""I will make you fishers of men." Sounds like he's trying to turn them gay, but whatever." That could be considered a little trashy. To each his own. Just like any other topic if it isn't your flavor don't click on it. People need to realize that in our society those that profess a belief in religion far outweigh those that don't. Hence on any given day, especially religious holidays, the topic will be brought up. Don't be offended just because you are in the minority. Anyway happy Easter or vernal equinox or whatever:beer:
Happy Birthday, Esther Bunny! (Saw that on a lighted marquee a few days ago. Seriously) Today I am going to hang out with Mrs. Boats and Little Boats. I think we will spread raspberry jam on the lawn and have a Jesus hunt. Makes as much sense as chocolate eggs and 6 foot tall rabbits. (Just a joke people.)
That was me... I fear I might have caused the spark that starts the massive forest fire here. Something tells me that this thread is gonna become inflammatory if it keeps going.
Stinky, if that is all it takes to start a fire, it was bound to happen. I made the original post and was no more offended by it than the ride report from Marshall Canyon. Have an awesome day!!
How come the "ressurection of the savior" is celebrated on different sundays every year...some years in early/mid April....sometimes in late/mid March?
The Days are different because Easter is always on the Sunday following the Jewish holiday of Passover. I think that the date is determined by lunar activity rather than the calendar year From wikipedia: Easter is termed a moveable feast because it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. Easter falls at some point between late March and late April each year (early April to early May in Eastern Christianity), following the cycle of the moon. After several centuries of disagreement, all churches accepted the computation of the Alexandrian Church (now the Coptic Church) that Easter is the first Sunday after the first fourteenth day of the moon (the Paschal Full Moon) that is on or after the ecclesiastical vernal equinox.
Ok, my turn to chime in. I am a Christian but have not been to church in years. I too, at one time, did want to discuss religion or even hear about it. Keep in mind, everyone has a right to express his/her own opinions, beliefs, etc. I agree with the premise, if you don't like the topic/discussion, then don't open the thread. If you don't like what some people have to say put them on "ignore". There are a lot of posts which I don't spend my time reading because I'm not interested in the subject matter (my choice) and I'd rather spend my time riding!!!! Happy Easter to all!!!
hardly, most of us enjoy suffering. I feel risen from the ashes of being sick all week, but nonetheless I think holidays are more for the networking aspects than the ceremonial purposes.
Typo???? Typo??? Perhaps it is "he has riden" Besides isb't it all about the bunny and mtb. You know what they say about hucking like bunnies Happy holiday to all!
