Great, Dorothy - right when I'm heading out of town for a week; you come to the OC.

You don't need a CX bike, just bring your HT with no barends.

Okay I'm going to show my naivete here, but what are the rules on bikes? Can I show up to a cyclocross event with my hardtail mountain bike? I know that disc brakes are now allowed for cyclocross, so it would seem I'm in the clear there. Is there anything else preventing me from slumming it on my Stumpjumper? Well aside from disparaging looks, that is.

You can use your hard tail mountain bike and you are correct that disc brakes are NOW ALLOWED. We should start seeing a bunch of cross bikes with disc brakes start coming out to market. :bang:Get out and race!
