With all the chunky stuff I have been riding lately I can't believe the loop takes me down and out! Thursday night descending after Cardiac Hill I pick the absolute worst line I could find and ride it has hard as I could. Considering that section of trail has been basically neutered recently I really had to search hard for my nemesis. Basically got caught in some new ruts to the left and figured I would ride it out and bam!! Small chip in right shoulder and serious contusions to right quad which have caused me some serious suffering. I basically can't walk and struggle on crutches. This pain is so bad I keep forgetting about shoulder injury. St Judes was a madhouse and spent 5 hours there. I just saw my doc and now am waiting for referral for orthopedic. My doc has me off for a month for now so looks like I will get some serious video gaming on!
Get well soon man, sounds like a nasty tumble. I do miss playing hours of video games while injured... And short naps throughout the day when you pop an extra vicodin. Wait that was just daily in college...

Sooner or later we all get it somewhere, I've seen a couple of spots descending Cardiac Hill that I'd rather not ride through as well! I crashed riding Marshall Canyon once and drove into St. Jude and spent 6-1/2 hours waiting in the ER with a broken collar bone—you beat me by 1-1/2 hours getting through St. Jude! Heal up quickly and hope you can ride very soon.
Healing vibes going your way! The last time I biffed it on the loop was around the same area. Trying to avoid running over a skunk launched me to the right at the concrete pad...... landed in the chainlink fence.......
sucks man, hope ya heal up fast. you are talking about the down hill after you cross Parks Rd? If so, yes the ruts are deep on the left, I find myself going down the rightside all the time.

Four months to the day I finally will return to work. I still have visible bruise on right hip and muscle is dented? Shoulder is still sensitive at end range but bone healed perferctly. May as well make my first dirt ride at The Loop! Lots of road riding in the past month though.
