I rode Fullertom Loop for the first time. Thanks to the various Strava segments, except for one section, I managed to stick to the trail.

I can see why noobs get injured: there are a couple of climbs followed by tricky descents where a rider who gets tired on the climb may be tempted to "let 'er go" on the descent. There is also lots of lose dirt.

I can't wait to do it again.

I have always told people to watch out on the loop as it get real sandy

i rode it today and was nice and warm but at the end cooler around 8pm less people but more mtbkers than tuesday

Fully Loop = :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Please be careful..
Sand and ruts can easily ruin a person's day!

Glad you had fun.

I was up there around 8pm as well. I actually made use of my over engineered bash guard.

It takes an 8" travel bike to ride the Fully Loop? Who knew!

:-)

Some of the most extreme downhill in the United States is at the Fullerton Loop. They need to have a WC Downhill event here one of these days. :bang:

Also, size matters. I need all 8 inches.

Awh... the joy and the pain of the loop. If you live on the loop, then you have no choice but to ride it. Rode loop regular, w/ all the side ss, rode the super fully, the short fully, then to mix it up, backwards fully, on my wife's bike fully.... probably rode the fully over 1000 times over 15 years! Hate the fully but what you gonna do when you only got one hour? I just get on the bike and go... sometimes, I even forget the helmet or the shoes and just ride the fully... (to the consternation of all, always wear your helmet!) Fully is my backyard and I expect to ride it til I'm 70, God willing! Now if only Mammoth was my backyard.....

Once, I spaced out and did the fully twice...missed the turn for my home...

I started trail bike riding with fullerton loop about a year ago and still ride 2 times a week. always good 2 hour exercise for me and it works day and night...
everybody has different taste for biking but for me it was for exercise and fully meets my all expectation.

if you are bored with regular fully loop 'try extended loop'. it gives 2k elevation with 19miles. http://www.strava.com/activities/168185429

I saw Andre did 25miles 3.5k climb from fully loop.

I don't like the back tracking part of the extended Loop + the gravel section east of Brea Blvd. I simply can't handle gravel of that magnitude. I'll stick with the WC worthy DH sections:

My 8" of travel works great when I want to ride on the tracks.

I gotta say though, it's really nice to be able to roll out of my garage and pedal a 1/4 mile to Gilbert/Rosecrans of the Loop. I have been blessed. :)

if ya live there its great and convenient. but the loop is probably at the bottom of my list of favorites id rather ride turn bull than the loop and thats saying something. My parents live in brea and from there house i can make a 20mile loop. Its fun but theres a lot better. I moved to long beach when i bought my house so any riding is a good 20 mile drive so might as well drive south to moro or aliso or whiting... place still holds memories of growing up and the trails we used to romp our bmx bikes on

I take my Beach Cruiser to the loop, this place is a joke and i am still trying to figure out why people waste their time going there. this place is for scared people that don’t want to ride REAL trails.

Just my opinion.

Not everyone can be as cool as you man.

Seriously though, after reading your trolling posts, I've started to wonder who this Tommmy guy really is. I searched your name online and I've come up with these possibilities:

Do you like Tennis?

Is this you in a riding jersey?

This kid looks like he loves to troll STR. Here's another pic of him.

Yep. Troll. Or maybe you're older than you seem. Is this you posing in a family photo?

Is this you thinking about how much of a joke the Fully Loop is while your playing blindfolded pinball?

Is this "Tommmy" on Saturday night?

Rode the Loop for the first time in May...it was a good time. I was fortunate enough to have a local show me some of the off path parts.
